Club Spotlight: Muslim Student Association

Muna Mohamed is the president of the Muslim Student Association club.

“Restarting up the MSA club was a challenge, but not as hard as it should have been since it was already started and just needed to be reactivated,” she said.

The goal of the MSA is to create a community of people who support and care for one another for the sake of Allah (God), to unify the student population on and off campus, and to use Islam as a means to cross bridges of language, culture, nationalities and form meaningful friendships that will last a life time.

“We meet to talk about fundraisers, help out with events at SMSU, how we can give back to the community, and ways to educate the SMSU student body, staff, and facility on Islam,” Mohamed said.

The MSA meets every Wednesday from 12 to 1 p.m. If students have any questions, they can like the Muslim Student Association Facebook page to learn more about upcoming events.
