This Valentine’s Day, you’re going to see more than your far share of hearts. Candy hearts, stuffed animals holding hearts, heart cards, movies about matters of the heart and possibly your psycho stalker’s actual heart.
But what about your own personal ticker?
Heart health is not something to be over-looked at any age. The University of Chicago Medicine states on it’s website that plague that leads to heart disease can being to build up in your twenties. This risk is higher if you’re obese, have diabetes, and/or have a family history.
There are simple ways to improve your overall heart health.
Drink more water.
Eat 5-9 daily servings of fruits and vegetables.
Limit saturated and trans fats.
Be active 30 minutes a day.
Limit alcohol consumption.
Don’t forget to take care of your own heart this Valentine’s Day. Yours is the only heart that matters to your body.
