The stakes of the Super Bowl are always higher than any other in the season game, but this year we had even more riding on the game. The Chiefs would’ve made history if they won with three consecutive Super Bowl victories while the Eagles winning marked their second franchise Super Bowl win.
The Chiefs were favored to win this game. According to ESPN, 41 out of 68 NFL experts had predicted the Chiefs’ winning. This shows that the result of the game surprised many fans, as the Eagles had a dominant win over the Chiefs.
In the first half, the Chiefs struggled as they were scoreless, throwing two interceptions and letting Patrick Mahomes get sacked four times. They only traveled 23 yards which proved the strength of the Eagles’ defense.

The halftime show is a popular attraction that even non-football fans tune in to watch. This halftime show was fronted by 22 time Grammy award winner Kendrick Lamar. This is another historic moment as it is the first time a solo rap artist performed the Super Bowl halftime show.
The second half went better for the Chiefs as they scored all 22 of their points and forced a fumble, while gaining 199 yards that which allowed them score them 3 touchdowns. Which was not enough to put them in the lead.
The Eagles’ defense wasn’t as dominant this half as they let the Chiefs score. The offense was similar to the defense only covering 56 yards in the second half. The short distance still managed to provide the Eagles with 16 points.
The first half of the match was where the Eagles excelled as a team, allowing them to slow down in the second half and still take home the victory. Along with the trophy, Jalen Hurts brought home the Super Bowl 59 MVP accolade.
