Mustang football vs. USF
The Mustangs faced off against ninth ranked University of Sioux Falls (USF) on October 8. USF is ranked first in the NSIC Division II in total offense and SMSU is ranked third. There was a lot of offense in this game, as was expected.
USF finished with 670 total yards as their offense rolled to a 48-28 victory. SMSU was held to a season low of 331 total yards.
Even with the dramatic yard difference, SMSU was able to keep the game close in the first half. The Mustangs entered the half trailing by only three points.
After half time however, USF showed why they are ranked first in total offense as they outscored SMSU by 17 in the second half.
SMSU will face off in an away game against Minnesota State Mankato Thursday, Oct. 20 to try and get back on track after dropping two straight.
