For the third consecutive year, the Mustang’s soccer team qualified for the conference tournament. The Mustangs received a 7 seed in the tournament, meaning they would travel to Sioux Falls to take on Augustana University (AU) on November 4. A team they had lost to less than a week before by just one goal.

The first half was a defensive battle, as the two teams went to the half tied at 0-0. Augustana out shot SMSU 11-2 but were only able to put 6 shots on goal. SMSU was able to challenge the keeper for AU on both of their shot attempts, but were not able to get anything to go.

Right as the second half started, AU scored to give them a 1-0 lead. The mustangs would not be able to answer as AU hung on to win and advance.

SMSU had four players named All-NSIC. They were, Miranda Cadena, Megan Kilroy, Kendahl Fisher, and Morgan Weyer-Coates.
