The Southwest Minnesota State University tennis team competed in Bismarck, N.D. on Wednesday, March 23 against the University of Mary in a Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference match-up. The Marauders defeated the Mustangs 8-1, claiming all six singles matches and two out of three doubles matches.
SMSU’s Crystal Overbaugh and Katie Kienitz defeated the University of Mary’s Sarah Jones and Catherine Gibbons with a score of 9-8 in No. 1 doubles to score the Mustangs’ lone point.
In No. 2 and No. 3 doubles, teams Lindsey Brace/Kayla Uphus and Erin Bones/Samantha Ritter both lost with a score of 8-1.
With the loss, SMSU fall to 3-11 overall and 1-5 in the NSIC.
