According to AP News Trump is the second president to win nonconsecutive terms. Grover Cleveland was the first one to do it back in 1885 to 1889 and from 1893 to 1897. President-elect Trump now prepares to be president for the next four years.
Trump did not just win the election; the Republicans flipped the Senate into their hands according to NPR news. Republicans having control of the presidency and the Senate is a good thing for president elect Trump. He needs one more thing to complete his agenda.
The House of Representatives is still up for grabs. According to NBC News, the house is currently 212-204 with nineteen seats still up for grabs. This means Democrats need to get fourteen out of nineteen seats to gain control.
It looks like Republicans are going to control the House, with Democrats having a slim chance to win the majority.
With President-Elect Trump having all this control for at least two years he can meet his agenda in his first two years in office. Meaning that we might have lower gas prices, mass deportations, cheaper prices and more world peace by not having the Israeli and Ukraine war as a part of Trumps agenda.
No matter where your political beliefs are we as a nation can accept the outcome. It’s only two years then Trump’s agenda will be reevaluated with the midterms, and there will be a new president in four years. The sun will still rise every day.
