Casino fright night successful
Casino Night was held Nov. 6 in the SMSU Conference Center starting at 7 p.m. Every year, Casino Night is the one of the largest events where students get to play Casino games. This year’s games were Bingo, Casino War, Blackjack, Beat House, Texas Hold’em and Play the Ponies, and the theme was “Fright Night”. Snacks and non-alcoholic beverages were also provided.
Upon entry, students were given a bundle of coins to start with, and had the chance to win door prizes, such as movies or coffee mugs. Some of the students that lived in the dorms were also presented with a flier that if redeemed granted them an additional bonus of $500 worth in tokens.
Beside the Casino Games, there was also face painting and a costume contest. Costumes consisted of a Jack Daniels, a deer, a Pikachu, a shark and many others. The winner of the competition was Aric Jensen who dressed as Indiana Jones.
The big part of Casino Night that most guests look forward to is the drawing for large prize. If a player collects $10,000 worth of tokens, they were able to put their name in a cauldron to win. These prizes included a T.V., a beanbag chair, yoga mats, body pillows, etc.
With the abundance of prizes and attendees, this year’s Casino Night was another success. A big thanks to all the volunteers who made this event possible!
