It’s the time of year when the wind blows as grass grows colder and the days become shorter while the impeding days of winter approach. Now something that is not lost on most Marshall residents and those of close approximation is the need for a survival kit packed away in your car should you go into the ditch.
The need for an advising day is of a similar nature. Some may dread the bi-annual Advising Day, but others, like Jordan Shuft (a transfer sophomore student), find the day a welcoming reprieve.
When asked what he thought about advising day, Jordan stated, “I like it because I don’t have to try and figure out what classes to take and when I need to take them. Having a professor there really helps.”
Many other students feel the same way. Having a teacher there in the backend of your car will help you out should you get stuck in the ditch of e-services.
At times searching what can seem to be the never ending whiteout of classes to find one that will fit your schedule for next semester and also keep you on track for the following years can be a difficult task even for the most savvy of navigators.
Certainly the help of a trusted map or gps unit and, if need be, the Snickers bar you bought three years ago cannot hurt, the added bonus to some a chance to skip classes without penalty is reason enough, to have someone double check your bearings and keep you on the road.
