SMSU has finally introduced a brand-new sport and even was able to offer the first full ride in SMSU history for Hobby Horsing.
Hobby Horsing is a gymnastics-like sport where people compete for the highest amount of points. Similar to Equestrian, this sport was a no brainer for the Mustangs to add among the ranks as some of their best teams, such as the football and basketball teams.
Peder Early of Simley High School was offered a full ride after his amazing performance at the Minnesota High School 4A State Hobby Horsing. Early was able to get a score of 17.9 smashed the set record from the previous record holder Laura Collet.
When asked how he felt how he did Early had this to say, “Sir, these gorillas were not riding the giraffes when I left.”
SMSU will be competing next semester starting on September 31st at the Pink Pony Club. Against schools in the NCAA DII Conference.
Good luck to Early and the many other students on the brand-new Hobby Horsing team.
