As November draws to a close, families all over are gearing up for Thanksgiving. On Wednesday, Nov. 20 from 6-8 p.m., Clapper Hall and Western Community Action, a partnership dedicated to combating poverty, will host the second annual “Thanksgiving Give Back” program.
The event will serve a traditional turkey dinner to an anticipated 75 sit down guests, and an additional 125 to-go orders.
“I am extremely excited for the event, knowing it is an opportunity for SMSU to team up with the Western Community Action to give back to the community we live and learn in,” said Amanda Hobson, Living and Learning Program Assistant for Clapper Hall.
SMSU’s Culinology and Hospitality department along with other volunteers will be putting together the dinner.
Anyone wanting to help is welcome to arrive in the IL building at 4 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 20. Volunteers will be putting together the stuffing, green bean casserole, and making mashed potatoes and gravy.
Please contact Amanda Hobson ([email protected]) or Andrea Caflisch ([email protected]) if you are interested in volunteering.
