In commeration of the 50th Anniversary of the assassination of John F. Kennedy, a presentation was held in Charter Hall Tuesday night, Nov 19. The two hour presentation was held in Charter Hall 201, and was sponsered by the Office of Diversity and Inclusion, SAFAC, Campus Greens and the Oyate Club. Featured speakers were SMSU professors Joan Gittens, Tom Williford, Jeff Kolnick and Lloyd Petersen. Williford spoke on the Cuban Missile Crisis and Kolnick spoke on the events relating to Kennedy leading up to the Vietnam War. Gittens spoke on Kennedy’s effects on social reform and the civil rights movement, while Petersen ended the presentation speaking on the assassination of Kennedy and who may have been responsible.
