SAAC Hosting Event for Clubs on Campus
The Student Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) is composed of athletes from most of the athletic teams on campus. Throughout the year, SAAC puts together a number of programs to raise money and awareness for various organizations or individuals.
One of the programs that SAAC kick-started last year is called SAAC Spotlight. At the SAAC Spotlight event, the student-athletes use their platform in an attempt to bring more awareness to some other clubs and organizations on campus. On Friday, Dec. 13, members of these clubs will set up booths at the men’s and women’s home basketball games in order to promote dialogue with the general public about what activities student athletes are involved in.
Attendees of the games will be encouraged to show up at different booths by being entered into a drawing to win a Hy-Vee gift card. In order to be entered into the drawing, individuals must visit and have a card stamped at the booths. There will be two drawings, with one card being for the Marshall community, and the other being for SMSU students.
If yuo or someone you know belongs to a club or organization at SMSU, encourage them to get involved! For additional information about SAAC Spotlight or to register your club for the event, contact Abby Schotter at [email protected]
