With this win, Tom Brady is the only player in NFL history to have won six superbowls. Heavy is the hand the wears all six rings. You may not be a fan of the Patriots, and that’s okay. But, you can’t deny that they know how to win when the going gets tough.

Many people assumed the Patriots to be underdogs in the Superbowl, however, preposterous that sounds. How can you underestimate a team with a coach and quarterback that each has won five rings together? But the Los Angeles Rams were the favorites in Vegas.

With the big win over the Bears in the second round of the NFC playoffs, the Rams had a strong outing against a tough Chicago Bear’s defense. The Rams ground game is what surprisingly turned out to be the Bears downfall which was unexpected because Todd Gurley was thought to be injured. CJ Anderson alone barreled for 123 yards.

The Rams barely made it past the Saints with a highly questionable call that could have altered the outcome of the game. Late in the fourth quarter Drew Brees tossed a pass up to the receiver to
TommyLee Lewis along the sideline and Rams corner-back Nickell Robey-Coleman arrived way early in what should have been called pass interference and probably targeting. Everyone in the
stadium watching knew that it was obviously pass interference. Even Robey-Coleman came out later and admitted that he got to the receiver early. Saint’s wide receiver Michael Thomas posted later on Twitter a picture of one of one of the rule book clauses that state a game could be replayed or even overturned if an extraordinary act occurred that changed the outcome of a game. This is exactly what happened, but Commissioner Goodell chooses not to have the game
replayed.

So, the Rams slipped through the cracks into Superbowl 53 and what we got was one of the most boring Superbowls ever televised. There was one touchdown in the game which was scored by Patriot’s running back Sony Michel. Brady set up the touchdown with a blooper to Ron Gronkowski
that left them near the goal line.

The outstanding defenses that both teams had been displayed through the score. With the acquisitions of Aqib Talib, Marcus Peters, Ndamukong Suh, and Brandin Cooks the Rams proved that you can build a team that can make it to the Superbowl through trades and free agency.
But when it comes down to the brass tax Bill Belichick and Josh McDaniels executed a dang near flawless game plan to control all of the Ram’s offensive weapons and allow themselves to march downfield on offense when it mattered the most.
