Black History Month may be over, but Southwest Minnesota State University’s third annual African Night is keeping the culture alive and the heritage rich. The event is March 23, 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. in the upper level of the student center. There will be free food and it’s open to the public.
Poet Ibe Kaba and the Titambe West African Culture Dance Group, both from Minneapolis, will be performing. Kaba hails from Guinea, West Africa and his poetry explores the culture of an African in America. There will be Vusu Zulu and Nothando Zulu story tellers. Sarah Drake will also be speaking.
Don’t miss this enthralling cultural event representing all different aspects of African culture and heritage. This event is sponsored by the SMSU Lions Club, MSUSA, and the Office of Diversity and Inclusion.
