Turkey tacos. Gross, right? That was my exact thought when a friend suggested we make them for supper this past weekend. I was a little skeptical at first, but because I love food and am always willing to try new things, I sucked it up and agreed to her suggestion.
After frying up the ground turkey, baking the shells, and piling them with toppings, I actually found myself enjoying what I thought would taste like a Thanksgiving dinner gone bad.
Bonus: turkey is naturally leaner, lower in calories, and higher in protein than ground beef. So not only does it taste good, but also it’s also good for you!
Turkey Tacos
1-pound ground turkey
1 packet taco seasoning
3 Tablespoons water
Taco shells of your choice
Toppings of your choice
Using a skillet, fry up ground turkey. After turkey is done, empty taco seasoning into the skillet and add three tablespoons of water. Stir until mixture is blended well.
Top taco shells with turkey mixture and toppings of your choice. We used lettuce, tomatoes, shredded cheese, and taco sauce!
