Emily Daniels, a distance runner at SMSU and a long-time Swiftie, met her idol Taylor Swift at the Minneapolis, MN concert.

Daniels, a sophomore here at SMSU, has been a Taylor Swift fan for 13 years and has attended a total of 7 Taylor Swift concerts. Daniels attended the Minneapolis concert with her younger sister, Alison Daniels, and her close friend, Abby Graf.

Emily, Alison and Abby were guided into the ‘Rep Room’, a waiting room decorated with memorabilia from Taylor Swift’s career. The three girls met Swift around midnight on Saturday September 1, 2018.

Meeting Taylor Swift has been on Daniels bucket list since 2008. Daniels and her group spent 10 minutes

talking with Taylor Swift.

“There’s nothing that I can put into words like what that experience was like,” Daniels said. Swift wrote, “I love you” on Daniels autographed picture. Daniels plans to have Swift’s words tattooed to remember this experience.

Daniels said, “I just related to her so much with everything and her music has gotten me through a lot of

hard times in my life, like hard races.” Emily Daniels is originally from East Bethel, MN and graduated from St. Francis in 2016. Daniels ran track

throughout high school and on the cross country and track at SMSU.
