SMSU Newman Club to host Thanksgiving dinner
For students who are staying on campus during the long Thanksgiving weekend, the SMSU Newman Club will be hosting a home-cooked Thanksgiving dinner. No one should miss out on the delicious food, and this organization recognized that.
Catholic Campus Minister Becki Johnson provided more details on the meal.
“All are welcome, and there is no cost. We do ask for people to let us know they are coming so we can have enough food prepared.”
The dinner will be held at the Campus Religious Center (CRC) at 1 p.m. on Nov. 24. All the traditional Thanksgiving fixings will be served: turkey, mashed potatoes, stuffing, casserole, dinner rolls, pumpkin pie, and other sides as well.
To sign up, students can RSVP for the event on Facebook or else stop by the Campus Religious Center to speak to someone in person.
In the years to come, future students will also have this meal available to them.
“This is the first Thanksgiving meal we have hosted, but (we) intend to make this an annual event,” Johnson said.
Johnson also invited everyone to attend the CRC’s weekly meetings. They are every Tuesday at 7 p.m., and each week has a different theme, some including games and birthday pie at Perkins.
