Go back to Twilight, Taylor Lautner; your new movie Tracers is an absolute flop.
“Wanted by the Chinese mafia, a New York City bike messenger escapes into the world of parkour after meeting a beautiful stranger,” said the Internet Movie Database (IMDb), summarizing the movie. IMDb gave Tracers a generous 5.3 out of 10 satisfaction rating.
I found it hard to accept that a movie involving the Chinese mafia, parkour, dirty federal agents and a halfway realistic view on New York City life could be so terrible. Pluck out Lautner, put in Jackie Chan, and you’d probably at least hit a 5.5 out of 10 satisfaction rating on IMDb.
This movie was literally Taylor Lautner doing parkour. The plot was microscopically existent, the love story attempt was pitiful, the ending was as poor as the acting and loose ends made up the entire film. If you’re not asking yourself “who” and “what” every ten minutes, then you’re probably just staring at Lautner.
Tracers did have a few points of merit. One of the messages in this movie isn’t to trust everyone that does you a favor, because they expect a favor in return. If this movie would’ve focused more on this concept and plot development instead of constant parkour scenes, it would have cleaned up real nice.
Rotten Tomatoes, an Internet movie-rating website, said that only 48 percent of the people who watched Tracers liked it. Rotten Tomatoes disagreed with IMDb and gave Tracers a 4.4 out of 10 satisfaction rating on the movie, and a 21 percent rating on the “Tomatometer” making the 2015 movie Tracers a, “rotten tomato.”
If you’re looking for a movie that is nothing more that Taylor Lautner exercising, give Tracers a look.
