The Southwest Minnesota State University golf team competed in the 16-team Missouri Western State Invite on Sunday, March 23 in St. Joseph, Mo. The Mustangs picked up a 15th place finish with a team score of 376 while fighting cold temperatures.
Arkansas Tech picked up the first place title with an overall team score of 311, which was 11 shots lower than runner-up Central Oklahoma‘s score of 322. Two golfers from Arkansas Tech claimed the first place title: Rebecka Surtevall and Megan Jeffrey, who both recorded a 3-over-par 75.
Rachel Patnoe and Dana Wagner paced the Mustangs, both recording 21-over-par 93. Patnoe and Wagner tied for 53rd place. Marissa Campeau, Becky Koepp, and Abby Gruber all shot rounds of 23-over-par 95, tying for 60th place. Megan Will, who competed as an individual, recorded a 22-over-par 94 to tie for 57th place.
