SPOILER ALERT! This article contains spoilers for the latest “The Walking Dead” episode. Reader discretion is advised.
On Feb. 9, zombie fans sat in front of their televisions sets. The hiatus was over. Finally Sunday’s could be filled with gory scenes of dead people and a group of survivors.
“The Walking Dead” was back. And it did not disappoint.
The intro to the episode set the mood. Michonne is spotted walking around the destroyed and abandoned prison, possibly looking for any of her group members. She does find one in the form of Hershel’s zombified head. After finishing Hershel off, Michonne is visably shaken.
That was just the beginning.
The rest of the episode toggled between Michonne and her backstory, and Rick and Carl’s dysfunctional father-son relationship.
Carl returns to the gun-happy brat we remember him as from season three. With Rick being unconscious from injuries, Carl is given freedom to do whatever he wants. That gets to his head as he wastes precious ammo and downs a 120-ounce can of chocolate pudding.
However, it was a great way to end the break “The Walking Dead” took. People will once again return to their TVs next Sunday with the promise of Daryl Dixon being in Feb. 16’s episode.
