On Wednesday Dec. 4, the last Senior Reading for the graduating Creative Writing majors took place in the upper ballroom of the Conference Center. The readers were Samantha Lemmerman, Justin Craigmile, Anthony Caron, and Katie Shwarz. As the last Senior Reading, it took part in the URC (Undergraduate Research Conference), like it does every year. Each reader gave their all as they read their finest work to the more minimal crowd. A snow storm happened to be passing that day, and many people were not able to come including family and professors. That didn’t deteriorate the reader’s abilities in the slightest though. Justin told a beautiful piece about the wind, Anthony gave many poems including one about the environment, Katie did both poems and non-fiction works with one being about her and her father, and Samantha finished off the reading with her work including a previously published story.
Except for a very obnoxious computer resetting near the end, the reading went perfectly. I enjoyed each and everyone’s work. All the readings this semester were great, but this was a fantastic finish to a volley of creative minds and writings.
