April is the Fine Arts Celebration. Starting off this celebration is a Mainstage Southwest Minnesota State University theater performance entitled: School House Rock! This show had its grand opening on April 11 despite the snow that fell.
Alec Otto, a performer in School House Rock!, answered a few questions for the spur.
Spur: What parts in School House Rock do you perform in?
Alec: I am a chorus member. I am in pretty much everyone song, except the strictly female ones.
Spur: How do you like School House Rock having performed it several times now?
Alec: Well, I really like the energy of it. [School House Rock] is really cutesy and funny, and just fun to do.
Spur: In general, what’s your favorite part in School House Rock?
Alec: I really like Inter-planet Janet, because I get to be Pluto! It’s pretty great.
Additional shows will also be performed April 19-21. Thanks to the weather, all shows, except for the elementary school matinees, are free for SMSU students with a valid ID.
