The Southwest Minnesota State University Mustang soccer team fell to the Concordia-St. Paul Golden Bears on Sunday, October 21 at the Regional Event Center in Marshall.
Freshman midfielder Megan Kilroy started the Mustangs off with the first goals of her career, giving the Mustangs a 2-0 lead in the first half. However, the Golden Bears came back with a goal of their own, cutting the deficit in half.
Going into the half, the Mustangs held onto a 2-1 lead, but could not contain the Golden Bear offense, allowing them to score in the 49th minute and the 70th minute to win the game 3-2.
Goalkeeper Sonya Smith made nine saves in the game, but allowed three goals. With the loss, her record drops to 7-7-1 on the season.
With the loss, the Mustangs fall to a record of 7-7-1 overall and 5-7-1 in the NSIC. The Golden Bears improve to 8-7-1 overall and 7-5-1 in the NSIC.
